When we first started our journey we wanted to find a cheap effective solution which could be quickly and easy applied to any pit latrine, no matter how rural or skill level. Our system more than achieved our goals. Installation simply involves adding 30L of water and a packet of Sanitation Beads to your pit latrine, that simple. The system almost instantly starts working, providing and effective barrier against breeding mosquitos and reduces odours, while maintaining a healthy environment within the system. Resulting in a healthier pit latrine in use, while also making latrine visits more enjoyable and safer for you and your family.
Our system negates the need for costly treatment chemicals (Though if used won’t be effected by them either).
It’s a viable option for improving sanitation facilities in both urban and rural settings.

Mosquito Control
One significant benefit of using sanitation beads in latrines is their potential for mosquito control. Various trials conducted around the world showed that the use of sanitation beads effectively controlled the breeding of mosquito larvae in pit latrines. Sanitation beads not only prevents breeding but also kills the immature larva by forming a thick blanket on the water surface.
